"Recycled Hats"

Kim and I had a booth at the lady bug bazaar this last Saturday and we did AWESOME! We sold so much of our stuff and we had the cutest booth there! (Sorry no picture of that my camera died) I promise I'll get a picture (Barb :) at the next bazaar. Every year we have done these bazaar's we never have found a successful way to display our crafts we are selling until this year! Scotland made us an amazing PVC structure and we had curtains and shabby chic furniture. It was darling! We got so many comments on it. I sold my "recycled hat's" and did better then I even hoped for. I was a little nervous about selling them at first wondering if people would like my style of sewing the hats...but they turned out to be a big hit! I sold completely out of the adult sizes with in the first 3 hours and by the end I almost sold my entire inventory! I had originally made 222 hats. Here is a couple pictures of the hats...

Here is one style that was the most popular.

You can switch the flower clip out for a different one that matches what you are wearing that day....

Here is some of the kids hats....

And here is some infant hats on Finley only 4 days old!(the black hat & brown flower hat sold so fast!)

I just find a sweater that I can imagine what a hat might look like out of it and start cutting and creating a hat!

Sorry about the creepy foam head but I'm not going to model every hat on myself!

I made two matching child hats out of this sweater...

I'm really excited about the next bazaar coming up...I have ALLOT of sewing to do in not allot of time so if you are having a hard time getting a hold of me it's because I'm going to be spending every spare minute sewing!

So happy to hear of your success with them! Did you come up with the idea of using sweaters by yourself? Or were you inspired from someone else?

Very cute indeed!

And GOOD LUCK with all the sewing!

The booth did look great! I couldn't believe the crowd you guys had. We passed by three times before there was even enough space to pop in and say hi! Your hats were definitely the cutest ones in the bazaar. Congrats and good luck!

Hey Kati! I was definitly inspired...but the pattern I sew my hats was just an idea I came up with when I was playing on the sewing machine! I hope they do well again at my next bazarr? Thanks for checking them out!

Okay you really need to have a daughter to spare Chace from having to wear anymore flower hats! ;) I'm glad you did so well at the bazaar! Hopefully I can make it to the next one and see your booth--I heard it looked great!

I totally miss the craft bazaars up there. The ones here suck. But the ones up there are awesome!
